Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, here’s one thing of which you can be sure: Congress is screwing the living daylights out of you!
by Charlie Leck
The best non-partisan, objective, cooly factual thing I’ve read about health care reform came from this weekend’s NY Times. It’s an article by Reed Abelson that explains what it will cost us as a nation and as citizens of that nation if Congress does simply nothing. The implications are both far reaching and deep-seated.
What if Congress does nothing? That’s the question around which Abelson scours the country looking for objective, non-political opinions.
“Then ‘my health care’ stays the same, right?I don’t know how much of this article I am allowed to quote here without violating copyright laws. It is packed with important comments from non-political study groups, research organizations, business associations and academic institutions on the disaster that awaits us in health care costs. Prices simply “will rise beyond reach. Then what happens?”
“Far from it, health policy analysts and economists of nearly every ideological persuasion agree. The unrelenting rise in medical cost is likely to wreak havoc within the system and beyond it, and pretty much everyone will be affected, directly or
indirectly.”
If you really want to understand how Congress is screwing you and me and especially our grandchildren go to and read this article that may open your eyes.
Action in Congress is being killed, plain and simple, by politics and I’m damned mad about it. We need hundreds of thousands of us to get as angry as I am and then maybe we could brow beat those lazy son-of-a-bitches in Washington to do something.
Please, if you read nothing else this week, read Abelson’s article in the NY Times.
