Reader Blasts Limbaugh Better than I

Rush finds his listeners’ hate-button!
by Charlie Leck

One of my faithful readers, after going over my recent blog about Rush Limbaugh, reacted and got things better than I did about this advocate of hate.

“I use to try to listen to him for 5 or 10 minutes, to see what was on the bullshit menu, but I have to tell you what shuts me down, and prevents even a short listen… it’s his ditto heads… the average American working stiffs, who he ropes in by hitting their point of hate… for some people it’s gays and for some it’s immigrants.. some hate Catholics and some hate welfare moms… but he makes sure he hits the hate spot that too many average, not-stupid, Americans carry around…

“I can’t make myself listen to him, and it hurts to know that so many people worship the manure he walks on.”
Now, no matter what I would have written or how I would have written it, I could not have said it better than that. That is exactly what hate-mongering is and that is exactly what Rush Limbaugh is.

You might also like to read Helen and Margaret’s blog about Rush Limbaugh. As usual, it's very good and funny stuff!

Then, I find this definition of hatemonger in the Urban Dictionary quite fun [see original]:

1.
hate monger
1.)A person who uses political beliefs or passions of any kind as a platform to express their hatred for another individual.
2.)A media personality who spreads hate under the guise of a political affiliation or a religous belief. If you are going to make an important decison regarding religion or politics, listen to many points of view and not just of those of the [radio talking head].

2.
hate mongers.

hate monger (see also Ann Coulter. Her vitriolic hatred of all who oppose white Christian dominance is nauseating and she is one of the many people who make me ashamed of labeling myself as conservative. Some sample quotes from this 'lady':

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

"When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors."

"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."

I think Rush fits the definition. Don’t you? And so does Ann Coulter.
