Maryland will Approve Same-Sex Marriage

While Minnesota voters go to the polls on November 6 to consider a constitutional amendment that will define marriage as only between a man and a woman, the state of Maryland considers just the opposite; that is, to allow marriage between gay men and women.

Maryland already has a law on the books that allows for marriage among same-sex couples. Now, in this year’s election, it looks as if voters in Maryland will vote to uphold that law. The significance of this is that Maryland would become the first state in the nation to approve of such a law by a state-wide vote.

Hooray for Maryland! I hope the polling in Maryland is correct. It currently shows that among people who intend to vote 58 percent say they plan to vote in favor of such a right to marry someone of the same sex.
